Dave hand carves and assembles rustic garden benches, footrests, planters and other functional art using only salvaged, reclaimed and found wood.
The tools that do most of the work are a variety of handheld power tools. Every piece is finished with non-toxic beeswax, an edible alternative to poisonous petroleum-based wood finishes.
"The wood has a mind of its own", explains Dave. "Everything I make is the product of the struggle between my expectations and the wood's will. It's a messy process."
